Cooperation with professional qualifications related to cancer Kanazawa Medical University Hospital is designated as a regional base hospital for cancer treatment. It is also accredited as a training facility for board-certified physicians and specialists in each of the basic medical specialties recognized by the Japanese Association of Medical Specialties. In this educational course, emphasis is placed on the training of subspecialists such as cancer pharmacotherapy specialists (Japanese Society of Clinical Oncology), clinical genetic specialists (Japanese Society of Human Genetics and Japanese Society of Genetic Counseling), and molecular pathologists (Japanese Society of Pathology).

Acceptance Goals The goal is to assign at least one oncologist practicing cancer genome medicine to each of the five cancer base hospitals in the Hokuriku and Shinshu regions. Five specialists will be accepted over a five-year period starting in FY2024. In addition, from the perspective of the number of applicants for graduate school, the target number of acceptance is set at one, since one person is expected to complete the specialist training course each fiscal year.
