Human Resources to be Trained The role of radiation field in cancer treatment has been evolving not only with typical radiotherapy but also with radionuclide therapy and immunotherapy. In recent years, the psychological care of patients has also become an important factor for all medical staff to understand. Therefore, we train students to have comprehensive knowledge of radiological treatment including mental care of patients.
Cooperation with Professional Qualifications Related to Cancer Radiotherapy Technologist (The Japan Professional Accreditation Board for Radiotherapy Technologists), Medical Physicist (Japanese Board for Medical Physicist Qualification)
Characteristics of Educational Content Lectures using e-learning will be provided to make it easier for working graduate students to take the course. The curriculum is designed to provide a team medicine perspective by making lectures in other fields compulsory courses.
Guidance System In the graduate school education, the curriculum is based on a laboratory-based supervising system, and is organized around lectures given by faculty members specializing in various fields.
Career Path of Graduates Those who will completed two years of the master’s course are eligible to take the medical physicist certification examination as a prospective graduate. After completion of the course or after completion of the course, the applicant must pass the certification examination, and then apply for the certification as a medical physicist after collecting the necessary credits recognized by the Certification Organization. In addition, after obtaining five years of clinical experience in the radiation therapy department, they can take the examination for certification as a radiation therapy technician.
In either case, students will be engaged in a department focusing on radiotherapy, and will be able to utilize the knowledge and skills acquired in this course.
